-------------------- I have a problem with restoring Xon/Xoff settings after I have used Dnet: Ser: no longer can be set to respond to a received Xoff character when output redirecting a textfile to ser:. No amount of preferences persuading can convince ser: to use Xon/Xoff handshake. The only way I can restore such is to reboot. Just for the record, RTS/CTS handshake is not affected, works properly under all conditions that I have tried, and is selectable using preferences. I have looked at Matt's code, and while not familiar with proper use of the serial device, I can't really see that Matt is doing anything to cause this behavior. Matt apparently doesn't understand why it behaves this way either (hope I'm not putting words in his mouth). Also, I have tried to use a couple of comm programs to send textfiles, but they have to same problem, complete with the inability to turn Xon/Xoff handshake back on once Dnet has used the serial port. Also I should note that only the dnet connect window is required to perform this feat. I.e. the Dnet protocol doesn't have to be started up to permanently turn off Xon/Xoff handshake. Dnet is the only thing I have which causes such behavior, but then I don't collect comm programs as a rule. I'm using an A500. Anyone know what going on here? Any suggestion for fixing it? Thanks, (Thanks for Dnet, Matt) ======================================================= Kent Polk - Southwest Research Institute {cs.utexas.edu, gatech!petro sun!texsun}!swrinde!kent =======================================================
