[comp.sys.amiga] Using IBM internal modems on the A2000??

hubey@pilot.njin.net (Hubey) (03/06/89)

I know that the A2000 comes with some PC and AT type slots across from
Amiga type slots so that boards that "straddle" both systems can be
installed. Until recently, no PC type "anything" could be used
without a Bridgeboard. Some time ago I read of a board ---"the Wedge"
I think---that would make it possible to use IBM harddrives without
the Bridgeboard.  My question is ;
     Does anyone know of similar boards that will allow the use of
IBM internal modems on the Amiga?? Would it be psossible to homebrew
such a thing. Is the Wedge flexible enough to allow such a thing to
be homebrewed ? I recently saw an ad for a 2400 bps modem for $95. It
is certainly desirable to have some flexible-programmable board to
allow the use of IBM type hardware.
