Anyone have any insight on what's happening here: my workbench gets into a state where whenever I try to click on a non-drawer icon, workbench just hangs. Actually, it hangs about a second or so later. I click, the icon toggles, and maybe a second or so later stops tracking the mouse. BUT... (this is a *really* strange part): if I insert a disk, it all works fine. That is, the disk gronks, its icon appears on the WB screen... *and* the mouse unhangs. If I click the mouse a second time (to run the icon), the same thing happens -- not even the 'ZZZ" bubble. The system just hangs until I pop in a floppy, then it goes and runs the program. Ancillary stuff: I run dmouse. The program that seems to trigger this strange behavior is "mindlight 7". My 2000 has two floppies, 3 megs, and a GVP harddisk. I've talked to the folks at Visual Aurals, and they've never heard of anything like this happening. And, whatever it is it is really stuck in there: mindlight 7 is long gone, the system is apparently working just fine... but I seem to be stuck with the workbench anomaly until I reboot. Any ideas? I suspect it is a bug of some kind in mindlight 7, but until I can give them a better hint about what is really going wrong, they don't have a prayer of psyching it out.
