Bill!

Please reserve one for me! But first, some questions:

1. How reliable are these drives?

2. Why the low price?

3. Does the price include shipping?

4. What kind of warrenty do I get with this? This is most important
to me.

Thanks for your info!

From article <1162@wpi.wpi.edu:, by john@wpi.wpi.edu (John F Stoffel):
: Sorry to post this, but it just kept bouncing. Damm mailers...

I tried mail also... I think there's a conspiracy out there
against us!

: Bill!
:
: Please reserve one for me! But first, some questions:
:
: 1. How reliable are these drives?

Maxtor has a pretty good reputation in the industry... I haven't
had one of the drives long enough myself to really come up with a fair
reliability statement... Ask me again an three years! :-)

: 2. Why the low price?

These drives were sold to one of the larger companies around here
as part of a full computer system... Before installing these drives, they
decided to go with larger one. They worked out a purchase on 760M drives
from a local distributer, and one of the conditions was that he take these
drives in part trade for the big ones. He got a good price, and is passing
that on to me (and you!)

: 3. Does the price include shipping?

I'll ship them free in the continetal US. I don't really know how
much it would cost me to ship outside the US, but I'll be happy to find
out if there's anyone out there interested!

: 4. What kind of warrenty do I get with this? This is most important
: to me.

These drives are no longer in their warranty period from Maxtor.
They sat in the warehouse too long... The distributer has promised me to
swap out any potential DOAs as long as he has drives to do it with, but
pretty much anything else would have to be worked out with your local
repair shop... I don't really think there'll be a problem, since these
are *new* drives, they've just been sitting a little too long...

: Thanks for your info!

Any time! Now, if we can just get our mailers fixed...
