[comp.sys.amiga] Amiga on PBS' Computer Chronicles

AT last some media types are open minded enough to not be total IBM
slaves... even if they are George Morrow and Stuart Chiffet. I
don't know if this week's Computer Chronicles is a repeat, but I
hadn't seen it before.

The whole show covered the Amiga. Unfortunately, the show focused
mostly on lame applications such as games. They did demo the
graphics abilites of the Amiga to do video titling, etc., but
forgot to mention that the video could be genlocked to a regular
NTSC signal. They obviously had taken advantage of the Ami's NTSC
output by going straight into the studio's video chain, funny that
was not mentioned.

The high point of the show was an interview with the people who run
the Stanford Linear Accelerator. They said a lot of nice things
about the connectivity capabilities and made a statement akin to,
"we are using the 15 Amigas we have because it is the only computer
available that has multitasking built into the operating system
from the ground up." Maybe not completely ture, but it sounds
good. I guess they forgot about the AT&T Unix-PC, huh?

Dan Silva also showed off Dpaint III, and drew oohs and aahs with
the amination, causing George Morrow to utter something like "you
mean you're doing this amination in real time? Gosh!"
