[comp.sys.amiga] Second hard disk on the bridgeboard

I've been trying to set up a second Janus hard disk on my Amiga. I have
a Miniscribe 3675 (64 meg) and ST238 (32 meg). Both are on a WD1002A-27X
with the jumpers W1 & W2 off. The Miniscribe works fine but is partitioned
using the Disk Manager partitioning software with a 10 meg DOS, 20 & 30 meg
Amiga drives. I can set up the second drive but when I format it on the
Amiga side it thinks it's a 6 head drive like the Miniscribe rather than
the 4 head that it is. Both drives are dynamically formatted and the
second drive will format as a DOS drive. Both FDISK and ADISK verify that
the second drive is configured with 4 heads and that all of the partitions
exist. It even shows the same using the DiskManager software.

So, does anybody know if what I'm trying to do can be done? Is Adisk the cause
of my problems? Do I need a different version of DOS to make this work
properly?

I seem to remember CATS saying that you can set up 2 hard disks and a max-
imum of 8 partitions. Perhaps the different drive sizes and configuration
are too much for Janus 1.0 and I need the newest version (I want it anyway).
Thanks for any help.
