If a guy knew enough about programming in DSP microcode, assembly language, and C to get paid on a regular basis for perpetration, but did not consider himself a designer of elegant structures (etc) and if this guy wanted to develop (1) an urban environment game with reasonably good graphics & sound (2) MIDI editing tools (maybe) , and he realized that this is likely to be a multi-year project given his comittment to date, which C compiler for a hard-disk equipped A2000 would be a better choice ? I would initially consider the following important, but would like to learn the priorities of experienced users. - comprehensive working environment easily installed on hard disk - freedom from obscure bugs - reasonable efficiency of final code (speed and size) - good documentation - light-speed is not important to me /* this is a hobby, job#2 is sound-recording */ - why should I use an editor other than mg (I use GnuEmacs at job#1) - cost Please post or E-mail as you see fit. Thanks, Frank. -- Frank C
