Posted by: scott@questar.mn.org for brent@bthpyd.UUCP ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- I recently purchased a 1-2-3 look-alike called VIP Professional, from a mail-order company. I knew I was in trouble when the manual started talking about needing "Amiga DOS 1.1 or higher"... hmmmmm... I sent in the registration card, in in three days, it came back--Not Deliverable at This Address. Their customer support hotline in California has been disconnected. What, did Lotus sue them? :-) (The manual is a real stitch to read; how they "conformed to the 1-2-3 standard"...) Anyway, before they went under, did they send out any updates, bug fixes, etc.? There seem to be some problems with it. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who got these updates and could send them to me. I'd also like to hear from anyone who has it running in 512K of memory under 1.3--this thing is a memory pig! Heck, I'd like to hear from anyone who owns the thing, or who knows about this company. My mailbox is pretty empty. PLEASE DON'T POST--I no longer have access to the net. Send e-mail to the address below. Thanks! VIP Professional is a slow and lackluster clone of Lotus 1-2-3 release 1. Don't buy it. Even if the company hasn't gone out of business. Steve
