[comp.sys.amiga] Again about A2500, A2620, 2500UX.

jcpark@ihlpb.ATT.COM (Schipaanboord) (03/17/89)

Just a small mail.

I am living in Europe, Engeland at the moment and i have tried
to get some information about the A2500, A2620, 2500UX.
release dates, prices etc etc.

I have called Commodore Technical suport here in Engeland, but after
beeing put trough from Sales to Marketing and Switchboard back to
marketing then again to Sales, i was somewhat less than happy.

Now i know that the 2500 is been released in limited numbers to
developers here in England, and that the 2500 is already released in
the States, but i want to know when the above mentioned systems/items
will be available to the general public here in England.

Since i want to Upgrade from an Amiga 500 to eventually an 2500 UX.

Does anybody out there know be any chance what an upgrade from an
A2500 to an 2500UX contains, (Since the A2500 only has a 40 Mb disk
and the 2500UX has an 80Mb Quantum Harddisk, (At least that is what
they told me)) What more does it requiere for it to be an 2500UX.

Anyway,

Any anwsers to the above questions would be _very_ appreciated.

Hank Janssen.

If you are looking to upgrade over the long term, you can start by simply
upgrading your 500 to a 2000. The 2500 series is simply a 2000 mother-
board with extra cards added. Then you may add a hard-card of your own
choosing (like the GVP hardcards - fast!), and add the 2620 and AMIX as
they become available. I have had an opportunity to play on a 2500 for
a few minutes, and its quite the speed demon (at least to me it is.)

Hope this helps you in your quest.
