I know we must have been through all this before but, I need some advice on picking a RAM expansion for my A500. I contemplated settling for the A501 but realized that I may need more in the future so can any one give me a quick rating or review of the following: Minimegs Starboard II SpiritBoard Byte Box Any other boards that I may not have listed. Thanks. ################################################################## # Disclaimer: My boss made me say it... # ################################################################## # _ # # / | /| | # # \ | | o | # # \| __ _ ______ _ | _ _ |_ # # __ | / | / \ / \ / \ / \| /_) / / \ | \ # # / \|/\__|_/__/_/\_/ / /___ \_/\__/\___/__\_/_| /____ # # \__/ _____ / # # / \ / # # \/ # # Jason Leigh: jal@zeus.cs.wayne.edu # # I always did have a weakness for 72 point fonts. # ##################################################################

The other boards listed above occupy fast ram above that region. If you plan or need to have the newer chip (fat agnus?) which addresses the full meg, you will need the A501 or equivalent as well as your larger fast boards. Just say no?????" - me I'm mailing this because we don't have outgoing posts turned on. If you are into it perhaps you could post it for me. Actually the A501 lives in $C00000. This turns out to be on the same side of the gate as the Chip memory so behaves as slow memory. However I don't think this is where the other 512K of chip that the Fatter Angus will use will live. From my hardware background I would guess that the additional chip ram will live from 080000 to 0ffffff. I haven't had a chance to stare at the gate hardware but it is on my list of things to do. -c -- cire|eric Eric B.
