[net.music] A. Holdsworth, Steve Reich, KB, Henry Cow?

girard@osu-cgrg.UUCP (michael girard) (10/24/85)

Guitarist Allan Holdsworth's most recent album, 'Metal Fatigue', showcases
his tasteful, EXTREMELY FLUID style: his dynamic control and technical
virtuosity is truly remarkable. He doesn't have the compositional inventiveness
of Fripp or Frith, but he does produce an exciting spark.

Composer Steve Reich's latest "The Desert Music" continues his futher
explorations into fusing process-orient "minimalist" form with more
conventional elements of harmony and melody. It has a dark, ominous mood
which not expressed in any of his previous work .... I like it!

I had never heard KB. I bought her "The Dreaming" and "Hounds of Love"
a couple of days ago in response to all the discussion on the net.
I appreciated "Hounds of Love" , especially the songs Ehberhard Weber
played bass on. His albums "Yellow Fields" and "Silent Feet" might tickle
some of you KB fans who like European jazz.

Does anyone know what the most recent Henry Cow album is? Will they
ever record any more music?
