[comp.sys.amiga] Removable Hard Drives/Where to buy Konika drive?

robert@csuf3b.UUCP (Robert Maltas) (03/30/89)

A while ago, someone said that Konika 10-meg removable drives could be
be purchased for about $700, and the disks for about $10. If so, who
offers such a deal, and does the drive work with the GVP controller?
Also, any experiences (non-sexual, of course) with the drive would be
appreciated, such as seek time, data integrity on those 10-meg disks,
etc. Thanks.

Probably me... ;-)

The drive & SCSI controler can be had from C-Limited (C-Ltd). (I don't have
the phone number handy but they advertise alot...)

I have no idea about the GVP controller.

The drive is (in a word) FANTASTIC!
I use it alot! I have a LaserFont disk (Full), PD games disk (Full),
backups for 3 10MB partitions of my hard drive, PD Source disk (Full,
starting #2), and a just-started UUCP disk with news (probably Full by
the time I get home ;-}).
