Is there a utility out there for converting GIF files to IFF files and back? Thanks. -- -- Dan Howell <ivucsb!dan@anise.acc.com> -- <...!(pyramid|ucbvax)!ucsbcsl!nessus!ivucsb!dan> -- "What? TWO buttons? I don't know if I can handle that!" -- a Mac user

As a follow-up to this request, I wanted to make sure everyone here knew about the package called FBM (Fuzzy Bit Map) that was announced a while back in comp.graphics. It supports GIF and IFF as well as several other formats and allows conversions to and from most of the formats it supports. It and another package called PBM together form a useful set of tools for image conversion and manipulation. It is available via anonymous ftp from nl.cs.cmu.edu (128.2.222.56). I use it routinely on a 4.3bsd unix vax, but have not yet attempted to compile it on my Amiga, so I can't tell you whether or not that is an easy port. Butler Hine hine@galileo.arc.nasa.gov
