My 2090a did not come with schematics so the call goes out to the net. Does the 2090(a) use a seperate fifo chip to buffer the incoming data stream? It seams that it would be an easy hack to replace it with one that is deeper provided that the software driver (and dma hardware) relied only on the full/empty status that a fifo chip provides. Going from 64 to 512 bytes (a full sector) might cure the buffer overflow problem.
