Has anyone out there figured out how to get WShell and DMouse (and CONMan) to work together properly? Specifically, I want to do something similar to dmouse -c2 -A0 -C newwsh ""<nil: >nil: CON:0/13/543/187/Dmouse/c s:Dmouse"" in my startup-sequence. The above works fine EXCEPT that it will NOT pop up a new shell. I've tried various combinations of quotes, switched to newcli instead of newwsh in the DMouse command, etc. Nothing seems to work properly. I really don't want to drop wshell, but I do like to be able to pop a new CLI or Shell when I need/want one. (Of course, newwsh and newcli still work, but its not as easy as the popup command.) By the way, my WShell is version 1.0, my DMouse is version 1.10, and I am running 1.3 DOS. Thanks, -- Jim Pritchett UUCP: killer!gtmvax!dms3b1!caleb!jdp

I'm not sure if this is your problem, but it has caught me more than once! DMouse has a quirk that it will not pop-up a new window until at least one mouse event has occurred. So if you are testing new window configs you need to move the mouse after booting. ============================================================================ | Stan Gibbs | | stan@cv.hp.com || {hplabs,tektronix}!hp-pcd!stan | |--------------------------------------------------------------------------| | The above comments do not reflect the view of Hewlett-Packard Co. | | If they did, I would already own a 2000. | ============================================================================

Nevertheless, the following works fine for me: dmouse -c2 -A0 -C "newcli <nil: >nil: CON:0/13/543/187/Dmouse/c s:Dmouse" I don't think the <nil: >nil: are necessary - I've never used them like this before. I imagine replacing the 'newcli' with 'newwsh' would work similarly. -- Eddy Carroll ----* Genuine MUD Wizard | "You haven't lived until INTER: ecarroll@cs.tcd.ie | until you've died in UUCP: {..uunet}!mcvax!ukc!cs.tcd.ie!csvax1!ecarroll | MUD!" - Richard Bartle
