[comp.sys.amiga] Tiles Source

shf@well.UUCP (Stuart H. Ferguson) (04/08/89)

I know there are a few PD versions of the tiles game (Shanghai
I think is the commercial version), but are there any sources to
these about? I'm thinking specifically about Tiles by Todd Lewis.
I like it and would like to port it. Thanx.

Re: Stu's comments about wanting to port the PD versions of "Shanghai" ...

to WHAT would you like to port it?

SHANGHAI already exists on the Amiga (in color).

One PD version named "mahjonng" exists for the UNIX PC (very similar to the
Amiga), and another exists for the Sun family of computers. I have the
sources to both (versions of mahjongg).

The screen resolution for both the UNIX PC (aka 3b1 aka AT&T 7300 ) and the Sun
versions is greater than that on the Amiga, so you may have to "fudge" the
tile imagery to get the "dragon" to fit on the Amiga screen.

If you'd like the sources, lemme know. And, would you like to speak at BADGE
again? So far there's no speaker for the April meeting; Jim Goodnow's phone
rings and rings ...
