We're considering an Amiga 2000 for our lab here (it will be used for molecular modelling and animation, TeX, and generally as a workstation). A Bridgeboard will unfortunately be required, and also an EtherNet card of some sort; a small hard drive (about 40 megs) is needed too. My question: what's the best (easiest + cheapest) way to put an Amiga on an EtherNet? Is it better to use an IBM Ethernet card on the BridgeBoard or is Ameristar's hardware the way to go? Also, am I better off with an Amiga 2000HD or a third party controller/HD? Finally, how reliable is an Amiga on a network? Thanks for any help you can give me. I don't subscribe to comp.sys.amiga so please EMAIL to senese@uxv.larc.nasa.gov Fred Senese NASA/LaRC MS 234 Hampton, Va. Disclaimer: I don't represent NASA/LaRC in any way.
