[comp.sys.amiga] How to use set-key in emacs_pro?

Andrew@amicc.UUCP (Andrew R. Scholnick) (04/15/89)

Does anyone have any idea how to get the Set-Key option of mEMACS
to work from an emacs_pro file. Rumor has it that the trick
involves the use of TABs but hours of trying have yielded no
success. I would like to be amle to reset some of the function
keys, and swap the return and 'help' (return with indent) keys,
among other things. I have been told that there is a way...
could someone tell me what it is?

ARS.

By strange coincidence I was doing that just last night.
I was able to set the lower-case function keys, but no luck yet
with upper-case ones. Here is an example of what I did to
change F-key 1:

Set-key F1 <CTRL>Q<CTRL>X<CTRL>Q<CTRL>S

This sets F1 to save file without quiting emacs.

Make sure and type the "CTRL" key for <CTRL> while holding
down the next key. <CTRL>Q causes an "invisible" quote
symbol to allow entering of an actual control sequence. Make
sure all line are correct in the Emacs_pro file as this will cause
undesirable results in your source code. Also, Emacs_pro must be
located in the directory "S:emacs/". Hope this helps. If someone
knows the trick on upper-case would appreciate the info.. :)
