[comp.sys.amiga] Parking the head on a hard drive

Well, I finally went out and got myself a harddrive.  It's a Maxtor
SCSI drive running off of the 2090A controller.  I also got the new
1.3 ROMS put in.  I have a couple of questions, though, and I hope someone
knows the answers:

1. Is there any software available to park the head of my drive?  I didn't
   get any with the drive.  Supposedly the Rodime drives on the 2000HD are
   auto-parking -- does anyone know if the Maxtors are?  

2. What software do you recommed for hard drive maintenance & backups?
   And where can I get that program that figures out the drive stats
   (i.e., transfer speed, interleaving, etc.)?
