[comp.sys.amiga] ARP 1.3 Bug/Incompatibility

ssd@sugar.hackercorp.com (Scott Denham) (04/21/89)

Having just installed ARP1.3 on my favorite workbench disk (THANKS ARP
for the GREAT install routine!!!) I'd like to report a minor bug
(or incompatibility, anyway). In part of my startup sequnce, I fire up
a new CLI from a batch file that consists if one 4-line IF EXISTS ...;
ENDIF block. It's been there forever, works fine. Now I load ARP 1.3,
and it starts to fail claiming no ENDIF for the IF. Turns out, the file
ends on the character after ENDIF, I.E. this line was not terminated with
a CR or CR/LF pair. Worked fine under AmigaDOS, but ARP didn't like it.
Adding a CR to the end of the line solved the problem. I'm not sure if
this is an ARP "bug", of if my batch file was illegal and just happened
to work. Anyway, either way, look out for this one.
