Sigh!! Apparently my original post of this last week ran out through a leak in our E-Mail world. If you have already seen this please pardon the double posting. There have been several articles concerning various word processors in the past few days, and now a similar thread for spread sheets seems to be developing. In the midst of all these there has been no discussion of integrated packages such as The Works - Platinum Edition. I need a good functional wordprocessor, but graphics capability and WYSIWYG are not high level requirements.(Nice if I can get them, but not essential) A reasonably robust database is important, but I do not need a fully relational (per Codd/Dates 12 Relational Rules) ANSI SQL capability. I also need a fairly flexible spreadsheet, but I do not the need power to do simulation, model forcasting or real serious statistical analysis. However, what I DO NEED is the ability for these packages to use a common data entry facility (date entered in one component of the package is accessable by other components of the package) and an ability to dynamically create or gather data in one component and pass it along to another component. To qoute a politician (any politicain) - I have said all that just to say this! Does any one have experience with the works - Platinum Edition or any other integrated package for the Amy? I am interested in feedback on any product you know of that you feel would be helpful here. Please respond to my E-Mail address. If there is adequate response and others ask for it I will summarize here. BTW I saw a request for a good heavy duty spreadsheet that would do a lot of the statistical functions. In the replys I have seen no one has mentioned AnalytiCalc by Glenn Everett on Fred Fish disk #144. I have loaded it and have done some preliminary work with it. It seems to be very robust and has the ability to handle large sheets. It also has a graphics facility (I have not tried this yet). There is copious documen- tation (100+ pages). The only thing I have seen to be a problem is that it certainly is not intuitive. You must read the manual to do anything at all with it. (HMMMM... maybe that is not all bad). Does anyone else use it? Would you care to comment on it? After All folks it is a share- ware offering, and looks like it could easily be worth the small stipend the author suggests!! Thanks for your input; Jerry
