[comp.sys.amiga] Clock Problems on the 2500

tdesjardins@rose.waterloo.edu (Tim Desjardins) (04/25/89)

My 2500 keeps loosing it's time, dates mostly like feb 99 and jan 85 etc.
I just want to ask is there any problem I remeber reading some clock stuff
a few months ago but can't remeber exactly what. I have NOT replaced the
battery ( being that I'm to lazy and the computer is only 3 months old ).
The problem seems to occur mostly when I reboot with a game but I have never
been able to prove this conclusivly.

   Thanks for any help.

4 out of 4 Amiga 2500 systems I have used have this problem. I heard
from one person that if you can get a setclock reset which works, the
problem goes away but in my experience Amiga 2500's and A2620 equipped
amiga 2000's lose the date on powerup. If you "wiggle" the keyboard
connector on powerup, it mostly goes away.
Perhaps post something to comp.sys.amiga.tech directed at C=
personnel, I have complained about this in the past.
