Well, Murphy's law struck again. I was planning to do my first backup of my hard drive tonight but it crashed on me while I was trying to save a file from DME... the system requester kept coming up saying my partition had a read/write error and when I rebooted the 2090A card could not recognize the drive at all so I had to go back to floppy. Of course since I have no backups at all I don't even have a copy of my mountlist or anything... As you can tell, I'm not too pleased. There is some stuff, not much more than 1 meg, that I don't have on floppy and would like to recover if possible. The rest I can reload if I have to re-prep the drive. Are there any recovery programs out there for SCSI drives? Also, does anyone have any docs on the Maxtor 100meg SCSI drive? That's what mine is and searching through my stuff I've discovered I have no docs on it at all (the dealer did the installation and prep'ing). I need the info to re-prep the drive. Yes, I can call my dealer tomorrow but sometimes I wonder if all of this isn't due to a bad installation on his part. I'm surprised that my boot partition died, too, though, since I was using another one at the time (the boot partition is 7megs, the rest of the drive is partitioned into 5 equal FFS partitions). I'm rather frustrated...
