A conversation with Robert Raleigh, a customer support person with
WordPerfect Corporation, today confirmed/revealed the following:
1. The current update to WordPerfect V4.1 is dated August 1, 1988,
and is available free of charge to licensed owners who are exper-
iencing difficulties with previous versions of the program. A
call to 1-800-321-3204 and description of your problem will get
you this one.
2. The next update is due out in May, 1989, and will cost $12.50. Call
1-800-222-9409 to reserve a copy using Mastercard, Visa, or C.O.D.
(According to Margaret Burlingame, who took my order, the charge is
$10.00.)
3. Work on WordPerfect V6.0 for the Amiga has been halted. According to
Mr. Raleigh, due to a disparity between development costs and sales,
there are no current plans for any further enhancement of WordPerfect
for the Amiga.
Woof! First Max Toy resigns, now this! What's NeXT? But seriously, folks, can
anyone *knowledgeably* comment on WPCorp's future plans vis-a-vis Ami? I mean,
this *is* the horse's mouth, right?
