Any flicker?? i never used interlace mode before getting it because i found the flicker about half way between distracting and annoying. (this was with the monochrome monitor i had before.) with the 2080 and the default workbench colours _i_ (your mileage may vary) can notice a bit of interlace flicker for some colours and colour combinations, but really only if i'm looking for it: i certainly don't find it intrusive in any way. i've been playing around a bit with some of the colour combinations that people have been posting, and some (richard's for instance. thanks) reduce this even more. some animations (not all) seem to smear visibly. the 'worst' is leo's "berserk", in which the unicycles leave little green trails.:-) i don't think it interferes with the animation. the mouse pointer smears a _little_ bit, but IMHO, none of this is a problem. like all things having to do with interlace, you'd wanna see for yourself first. i have no complaints at all with the overall display quality. i'm glad i got it: waiting for the new graphics chips and hi-res deinterlaced displays made no sense for me since i have a 1000. i can certainly say that it changed interlace mode from a neat curiosity into my environment-of-choice. if you're shopping for a monitor, i'd certainly recommend taking a look at it if you can. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Think I'll stay in bed Rick Pim, Physics Department Dream all day Queen's University, Kingston World outside bugs me anyway. rick@qucdnast.bitnet
