[comp.sys.amiga] new agnes, mail order questions

don@vax1.acs.udel.EDU (Donald R Lloyd) (05/02/89)

So am I to assume that all new 2000's are shipping with the new 1 meg chip?I plan on buying one in just over a month & I want to make sure I get one with the latest agnes chip in it.
Anybody have anything good, bad, or indifferent to say about Lightspeed or ComputAbility (mail order places)? These two seem to have the best prices, so I'll probably be ordering from one of them. Any info on either that would help me make my choice would be appreciated. The guy at ComputAbility seemed to knowwhat he was talking about, but lightspeed's price is better by $40 or so (I can't remember the exact figures).

I ordered the Pacific Peripherals OverDrive hardcard ($769) from
LightSpeed last September. It arrived about seven weeks late. But at
least it did arrive.

I'm not all that satisfied with Pacific Peripherals either, but that's
another story.... :-)

And to answer the other place....

I ordered my Amiga 500 w/ 1084S monitor from ComputAbility. Not only was
the price quite satisfactory ($849 new), the setup made it from there to
Oklahoma in 4 days instead of the projected 7 to 10 ... which means they
_must_ have sent it out immediately.

Good things, good things.
