[comp.sys.amiga] Neophyte's Progress

The more I dig, the more I like this machine.

So, I went to my local dealer to get some "graphic/sound demonstration
benchmarking programs" (read: games). I'm currently sitting here with
"Zork Zero" (stuck on the walnut and the flies) and "Aunt Arctic Adventure"
(stuck on level 24). After rushing home from the dealer, I tried loading
AAA from the Workbench...not a good idea. I became familiar with the
phrase "corrupt block" and heard about DiskDoctor.

So: without pausing for a moment's rational thought, I went storming back
to the dealer. Who promptly popped the disk in, turned on the machine, and
spent ten minutes getting to level 2. Sheesh.

Anyway, some more comments and questions:

	- Thanks, Al! I got ahold of some back issues of Amazing,
Amiga World, Info, and Amiga Transactor. Interesting
	  historical/informational romp.
	- Ron, when you say your book will be out "RSN", just how
"S" is that? I've been pecking at CLI (no pun intended...
	  really...) just for fun.
	- I also got ahold of some Fish disks (hi Fred!) from my
friendly dealer. This "Berserk" thing is FANTASTIC!!!
I want EVERYONE to get this one!
	- Of course, I had to see "Berserk" at my other dealer because
the poor Neophyte only has .5 meg. I think the order of
purchase might be drive, memory, assembler.
	- Speaking of which...any good assemblers out there for the
	  Amiga 500? 68000 chip, yes?
	- For the game players who might have AAA: find the cheats yet?
	- I also got something called AMNews. It's a magazine on three
disks, with demos, ads, articles, and a lot of other nice
stuff. The one I got was Vol. 1, Iss. 3. IT'S GOT WANDERER!!
	  YAY!

That's about all I can think to say for now. Thanks for your ear.
