Anybody got an A1000 internal drive they'd care to part with? Mine has bitten the dust and I've just about given up hope of getting it fixed. I just can't see parting with in excess of $150 for a new one ordered from the factory. What I'd really like is to find someone who has on old '1000 they're parting out. To facilitate use of the existing metalwork to mount the drive with, I'd prefer to find another Matsushita, but I would also consider others, as long as I can get the mounting frame, too. About the only absolute restriction I would make is that I can't use an NEC drive, or any other one which will not clear Kickstart Eliminator ROMs, which are socket mounted under the spindle flywheel. (NEC drives don't have enough clearance.) Please e-mail me with your terms if you have such a drive you'd like to sell.
