[comp.sys.amiga] STROBE & interrupts

Hello world,

I'm trying to install stereo on my sound digitizer...but i have some
problems, because i have no documentation about my amiga's hardware...
I need to know:

1) What happens to the STROBE line of the parallel port when i read a byte
on the data lines with a "move.b $bfe101,d0"? I suppose there is an
impulse, but does it happen BEFORE or AFTER the byte is read? How long
   is the impulse?

2) I want to use interrupts to be able to select the sampling speed (i'm
writing software to alter the frequency of the sampling sound in real
time, and other amusing effects) but i don't know how to do that. I have
tried to use the audio interrupts, but it never worked. A friend of mine
showed me a disassembly of a program which tests bit #2 of word $dff01e
to regulate its speed (i suppose that some circuitry sets this bit at
a selected rate): how can it be done?

Is there a book which explain the internal working of the amiga? (no, not
the Hardware Reference Manual :-( )

Any advice would be very appreciated...
