Hi net! I'm having a very weird problem with my printer these days. The story: My setup is a 2500, Toshiba P321 and a parallel cable with gender changer between the two. (Cable used to go from old 1000 to P321) Anyway, It worked a few weeks ago when I was up here at school. Then I packed all of it up and moved home. At home I set it all back up and tried to do a printout. No go. I checked the printer and found an error light. I looked inside and the platen knob was still in the printer (my brother had setup the printer and didn't know any better), so I turned of the printer, moved the print head over and took out the knob and reinstalled it. I turned the printer back on and nothing happened when I tried printing. I eventually got the requestor for printer problems, check cable etc... which I did. The cable works fine from the 2500 to an old Gemini 10x and from the 1000 to the Gemini 10x so it ain't a cable problem. Then I did the self test on the P321. It worked!! Huzzah I cried, it's working again. No such luck. It was still as dead as a doorknob to the Amiga. I tried lots of different things, but nothing has worked. I even tried using the serial port to talk to the printer but no luck either. This problem is really bugging me since I need the printer for Resumes and such. Has anyone else out there had this kinda problem with Toshiba Printers or any printer for that matter? I have a hunch that something got jarred loose on the trip home, but what it is I have no clue. So before I take it in to get serviced and pay $$$ for a stupid fix I was wondering if anyone else could help? Thanks for any and all replies!! Please E-mail to me directly since I have to call long distance to read mail. I summarize and post the results when I get the thing fixed. Thanks again!!!! Have you tried installing it on a Soviet submarine? -=- -- Jeff (martens@cis.ohio-state.edu) Heilbronner and Thurow: "There are no predictive laws in economics." Martens: "No wonder I can't live within a budget!"
