I have a friend who is a very good Amiga programmer who is looking for work (preferrably contract work). Can someone here tell me how is the demand for Amiga contractors these days? Do any of you know of a company looking for Amiga contract work whose name and number they could give me? Who are the biggest employers of Amiga contract programmers on the West Coast? My friend lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. Thanks, Will

Re: Will Estes' quest for Amiga employment in the SF Bay Area on behalf of his friend ... Wellllll, I don't want this to sound like a commercial announcement, but those who attended last month's BADGE meeting will remember when Cybil ... uhhhh, Cindy .... made the announcement that her company, Heuristics Search, Inc., has been placing "Amiga" people. To be more specific: about a month or so ago (well, sometime earlier this year), I gave Cindy (who is Doug's (Merritt) SO (although *I* like her too! :-) ) a listing of all the Amiga-related software and hardware "houses" located in and around Silicon Valley. Cindy has been "placing" people at those establishments. And this week (more specifically, 9:30am Wedenesday, 17-May-1989), Andry Rachmat is flying in from Seattle for interviews arranged by Cindy; I put Andry in contact with Cindy. I just wish I had the budget to hire Andry myself; sheesh, I cannot even afford to go to the Amiga Developers' Conference next month and it's only 30 miles away. :-( So, if you're a software person and looking for employment in the SF Bay Area, call Cindy and say you saw this posting here on Usenet. And if you are coming from out-of-state, gimme a call and we'll have lunch at the Amiga Restaurant (seriously!) next to my office in San Jose.
