Hello all you Amigans.. Is there anyone out there who has tried to use the A500's internal 512K ram expansion as a kind of WROM, so that other versions of KICKSTART can be used like A1000 users can ? -- Robert Lukassen RCSTRL@eutrc3.UUCP tuerc3::RCSTRL ...!mcvax!eutrc3!RCSTRL

While there's a facility called "RamKick" that'll let you add replacement OS modules in normal memory, you can't simply replace an entire KickStart using normal memory. KickStart wants to live at a specific location in memory, and you're extra memory isn't there on an A500, ROM is. If you've got an A2500 or other machine with an MMU, stay tuned, you will be able to read in KickStart disks before long.... > Robert Lukassen > RCSTRL@eutrc3.UUCP tuerc3::RCSTRL ...!mcvax!eutrc3!RCSTRL -- Dave Haynie "The 32 Bit Guy" Commodore-Amiga "The Crew That Never Rests" {uunet|pyramid|rutgers}!cbmvax!daveh PLINK: D-DAVE H BIX: hazy Amiga -- It's not just a job, it's an obsession
