I am a new Amiga 2000 owner/user, and I am looking for in depth explanations of how the machine and AmigaDos works. I am definitely not new to programming and computers. Right now I am working as a programmer in a C/Xenix environment. I have bought a couple of Abacus books - AmigaDos Inside and Out and The System Programmers Handbook. AmigaDos Inside and Out was a total washout inside and out. It gave very little, I would say amazing little added information to what the 1.3 Manual provides. I would like more explanations and plenty of examples of how to write scripts, use commands such as resident, setenv, status etc. etc.. Also how intuition, preferences, tool types etc. fit together in the big picture. Is there some good overview out there? Eventually I would like to be able to write applications which merge music and graphics and would like to able to really run the machine. (That is what it is isn't it?) I would really appreciate information on how I could get started. Thanks. Jory Gessow
