[comp.sys.amiga] Reply to 'darin@laic.UUCP' and other dissatisfied VT100 emu

For what it's worth ...

I have several VAX/VMS systems at my office (VMS 4.7 and 5.1), and the
Handshake V2.12a program on the Amiga operates better with DEC's editors
than does DEC's own VT2xx and VT3xx terminals.

Since I often connect my Amiga to DEC-20 and to UNIX systems also, it may
behoove you to know that if you select "DT80" as your "terminal" (re: either
termcap or terminfo) instead of "VT100", performance is greatly improved, since
the DT80 termcap/terminfo represents the Datamedia DT80/1 which is the most
superior "VT100" clone on the market (doesn't even require the padding that
all DEC terminals do).
