[comp.sys.amiga] What's a good audio digitizing program?

s110018@vega.ucdavis.edu (Bruce Rogers) (05/26/89)

Hi, I just borrowed the futuresound audi digitizer and software from
a friend, and would like to do a bunch of iff samples with it.
The problem is that while the actual hardware parts seems to work
fine, the software is a complete dog. I think this was bought a few
years ago, and the software is probably the first release...

Can anyone recommend a good program to use with the FutureSound
audio digitizer? The software that came with it is completely useless.
Thanks in advance.

I use Audiomaster by Aegis Development. It is a very nice, fast and
userfriendly program. I can recommand this, 'cause it works with
FutureSound, PerfectSound and SilentSound digitizer.
I think the best audio digitizer software you can get is Audio-
master II. It supports stereo sampling at a rate of 40 kHz (like
music from CD, but only 8 bit samples...).
WARNING: Sampling at 40 kHz requires a 68o2o at 14 MHz.

Greets, Matthias

I don't know if there's anything released (PD or commercial), but
Applied Visions did send me C source to access their hardware
(they sent it free and very quickly, I was pleased).

I could mail you that if you want to do some hacking. Conversely, if
you find something else already available I'd be interested.
