[comp.sys.amiga] Archive mail server

bryan@chroma.UUCP (Bryan Ford) (05/24/89)

Funny, I haven't seen any response about the new archive mail server. Not
even a simple thank-you. (Although I might have missed something in trying
to avoid all the trash about Apple System 7.0 and OS/2.)

Anyway, I would just like to say thanks to Steve Berry and whoever else
helped make this possible. I've been waiting for something like this for a
long time.

Your very welcome. While I'm taking bows, I think I'll introduce you to the
person who is maintaining the archive data base (I just fix the scripts and
take care of any problems that pop up) ... That unknown benefactor is our
very own moderator - Bob Page. BUT please don't send Bob any mail about the
archive, that's my job.

Well I attempted to send him mail thanking him, but it kept bouncing :-(

So did all attempts to get to the servers at the addresses he gave in his
messages.

Some others have found out that there is an error in the maps for the kilowatt
entry (not steve's fault).

I am currently attempting to reach it at:

archive-server@sun.com!kilowatt

And see what happens

Soooooooo.... Thanks Steve., I am sure I will get ahold of Archive-server
sooner or later. I was going to thank you in email but what the hey...
This mail serve is something us non-ftp people have needed for a long time.
I know it's a lot of work to keep up and it uses a lot of valuable storage
space, and we all do appreciate it very much.

I just wanted to ad my $0.02, and say **THANKS** to all concerned with
the server. Now we just need a cute acronym for it, so's we don't all
feel left out when other people talk about their FTP access. :-)

Sorry about that, chief! Inews didn't like my .signature, and decided
not to tell me until it was too late...
