[comp.sys.amiga] Handshake V2.12a tip

Chrispa%RCN.BITNET@cunyvm.cuny.edu (06/05/89)

I noticed that in this version and the last version as well, when the text hit
the bottom of the screen Handshake sometimes failed to do a Newline, so some
of the lines never made it. This could present a problem.

My solution, use Smooth Scroll mode. It works 100% for me.

P.s. I just acquired Unix access, and this system went wonky for a while so I
Missed the FTP list.

fWould someone consider being a fine person and forwarding it to me?????
Thanks alot.

I'm impressed with Handshake - of all the emulators I've tried so far, it's
the only one that passes my "VT100-torture.test". It can handle double
width double height bold BLINKING underlined special line-drawing characters.
(To the person who remarked that AmigaBASIC doesn't do blinking text:
Handshake does blinking by changing the color palette a couple times per
second.)

The only problem I've discovered with Handshake is that I have to reset the
terminal whenever I run jove under SunOS 4.0. I haven't determined whether
it's a bug in jove or a problem with the termcap entry, but the following
escape sequence causes the keyboard to be locked.

	$[;H$[2$[?1h$=$[;H$[2J

Note that "ESCape open-bracket two" is an incomplete escape sequence; there
is a "J" missing. Selecting "Reset term" from the menu clears the keyboard
locked condition (even though it doesn't clear the "keybd locked" indicator).

I mentioned this to the author, Eric Haberfellner, who is looking at the
problem. He is also planning to use a better font for 132 column mode, so
that double-wide lines (66 columns) are more readable.
