I was attempting to use SetCPU V1.4 today with the FASTROM option. It seems to be a sure way to get "Software error - task held" requesters. This appears to be common with either the AT or XT bridgeboards installed. Luckily I had SRT lying around (thanks Carolyn!) that displayed the exception code and the task name (and allowed me to suspend the process so I could find all the tasks that got really upset). The tasks going down (with exception=2) are ZaphodServiceTask AmouseProcess PCdisk Any ideas as to what's happening? .../Ed (EWilts%Janus.MtRoyal.AB.CA@UncaNet.Bitnet) Ed Wilts Sr. Systems Analyst, Canadian Occidental Petroleum Ltd. Sure 'nuff... > Any ideas as to what's happening? It's some kind of protection violation, we don't know just what yet, though the Bridge Card People are looking into it. A fix is already on the way, though -- I just sent SetCPU V1.5 to Bob, who will hopefully post it shortly. It will install a handler for level 2 exceptions, and all your bridge software generated level 2 gurus go away. > Ed Wilts -- Dave Haynie "The 32 Bit Guy" Commodore-Amiga "The Crew That Never Rests" {uunet|pyramid|rutgers}!cbmvax!daveh PLINK: D-DAVE H BIX: hazy Amiga -- It's not just a job, it's an obsession
