Hello folks. A couple of weeks ago I posted a message asking for help getting past disk 5 on Dragons Lair. Our news feed has been a bit screwy lately, so I am not sure if anyone got the message, since I got no replies. Well, are you folks seeing this message. Does no one feel like awnsering? Does no one know the awnser 8-) I kinda doubt the last one. Here's the problem. We get to Disk 5, get through the rooms with the walls, and get to the Dragons Lair. Now what? We get fried by the dragon EVERY time. Can y'all help me out. We have steadied the pile of ``dishes'' but POOF thats it for ole Dirk...... Also, I beleive there exists a set of keystrokes that will put the game in a demo mode that shows the movements to get through the whole game. Is this true, and if so can someone send em to me. Yes, I know its cheating, but I am getting tired of getting all the way to Disk 5 and then getting fried without a chance to do anything. For anyone who is interested, the game is pretty good, but is kinda slow moving if you only have one disk drive (like I do). The graphics are excellent. For someone who doesn't play many games, it has kept me interested for a while (until this disk 5 stuff ARGHHHHH). I'll post the help I get if I receive any requests. Use Email if you can figure it out ;-) Thanks for your help, Brian -- ...!uw-beaver!uvicctr!bcorrie bcorrie@uvicctr.UVic.ca Under the most rigourously controlled conditions of pressure, temperature, volume, humidity and other variables, the organism will do as it damn well pleases. Sounds like some of the code I have written!!!!! 8^)

Here's a little cheat file for ya --------------------------------- Asterisks denote that left & right moves may interchange depending on screen reflections. Intro Snake Screen: [fire],[up] Potion Room: [right] Bat & Collapsing Bridge: [right],[left],[right] * (stairs on right) Ceiling Monster: [fire],[up],[right],[down],[right],[left],[up] * (stairs on right) Rapids: [right],[left],[right],[left],[right then up],[up],[left then up], [up],[right then up],[up],[left then up],[up] * (If Whirlpool Scene has whirlpools on left at first) Couldren Room: [fire]....just when monster attacks you Electric Knight: [right],[left],[up],[left],[right],[left],[right],[up] * (No need for sword at end; Moves relate to sword of Electric Knight being in his right hand; left of screen as you look) Rolling Balls: [down]...about 6 times; till after Blue Ball; wait till balls pass each time Closing Wall: [forward], [forward twice fast] Dragon's Lair: * ( If falling treasure begins on Right) [right],[left],[back]..."Use the Magic Sword...",[fire] (next disk) [down],[go whichever way Singe looks around the pilar], ...tail thrashing...[down],[down],[down],[fire]... ...KILL THAT BASTARD!... Sit back and watch the skimpy maiden bounce out of that dress. By the way, if you want great sounds from the game, hook it up to your stereo, Type "L" while it loads to eliminate lo-pass filter and play with your equalizer or treble and bass; more bass to accomodate for the lo-pass; and it sounds great! Hope to see Dragon's Lair ][ soon! Marcus@cup.portal.com
