Hi, I am stuck trying to fix the broken crystal shards in Zak Mckraken.

I warned you...
I have both halves of the crystal. I have the scroll with the words
of power on them. I figured out how to get past the guard to the
stone-henge. I lay the crystal halves on the alter and let her read
the "words of power". The lightening comes down and strikes right
in the center of the crystal. But it stays in two pieces. I know
I'm missing something, but I can't figure out what it is. I'm also
aggrivated because this is the first hint I've needed, and I have
no desire to purchase an expensive hint book.
