I would like the assistance of somebody who has experience with monitors and TV signals. I bought a Philipps AV 7300 television tuner in the expectation that I will be able to connect it to my Amiga monitor, model 1081. The combination does not work! I have tested the tuner with another two monitors and got a good picture. With my monitor, all I get is the sound. If somebody has such a setup working or knows what has to be done in order to get it to work, please contact me, preferably directly. Greetings, Edi. (Edi@Hadassah.Bitnet)

Get yourself a VCR and connect the 1081 to its video & audio outputs. Open the front panel and switch the toggle to composite input. Tada! You've now got a picture that is superior to 90% of TV sets out there. Valentin _________________________________________________________________________ The godess of democracy? Here is the answer to my problem: >I would like the assistance of somebody who has experience with >monitors and TV signals. I bought a Philipps AV 7300 television >tuner in the expectation that I will be able to connect it to my >Amiga monitor, model 1081. The combination does not work! I have >tested the tuner with another two monitors and got a good picture. >With my monitor, all I get is the sound. Here in Israel customs tax on TVs are very high, on computer equipment they are much lower. A monitor with a composite video input is considered a TV set for tax purposes. So the importer of the Amiga monitor simply disconnected the video jack. When using the monitor only with the Amiga connected via the RGB cable, you'll never notice this. Thanks to everybody who tried to help and in particular to Thomas@HUJIDS who solved the riddle. Edi.
