this message is to any and all developers/basement hackers looking to mak some $$$$$$$. THE AMIGA NEEDS A SCRIPTING PROGRAM!!!!!! it's THE machine for video, yet it has no scripting progs available. is it me, or is there something definitely wrong with this picture. If i had the resources, (like 2 drives, more than 512 k, and the money.) I'd develop it myself and cash in. But it pains me to do everything else connected with production on the amiga, and then have to go to the IBM to use scriptmaster??? Wake up and smell the coffee developers. There IS money in this, as i'm not the only one who has said this I've seen it at least two or three other times as well. Good luck. It's the picture. If there really is a need for this type of program, I'm sure we can come up with something. > > If i had the resources, (like 2 drives, more than 512 k, and the money.) > I'd develop it myself and cash in. I have 2 drives, more than 512k, but no money. Is that close enough? Could you describe what you would like this ideal Amiga scripting program to do in a little more detail? Not many of the "basement hackers" (I've never personally hacked a basement) on the net are gonna run out and buy a PC program to see what it ought to do. (Maybe they should, but that's another issue.) > Wake up and smell the coffee developers. Smell that coffee! Now slide back up on that soapbox, Patti, and tell us what you REALLY need in a scripting program. Seriously. I've been looking for a worthwhile program idea for a long time. I think I'm not the only one. Todd M. Lewis, utoddl@ecsvax.uncecs.edu, utoddl@ecsvax.bitnet To quote Eugene H. It plays back video images by following a script of names of IFF images. Or are you talking about word processor for movie producers that prints scripts for human actors? You should have made that clear in your article, as the name "scriptmaster" means nothing to me. I have heard that scripts for theatre, movies, and TV have to follow very rigid guidelines on margins, headers, footers, indentation, etc. I agree that needs to be done. -- Joe Smith (408)922-6220 | SMTP: JMS@F74.TYMNET.COM or jms@tymix.tymnet.com McDonnell Douglas FSCO | UUCP: ...!{ames,pyramid}!oliveb!tymix!tardis!jms PO Box 49019, MS-D21 | PDP-10 support: My car's license plate is "POPJ P," San Jose, CA 95161-9019 | narrator.device: "I didn't say that, my Amiga did!"

My wife writes video scripts and currently uses WordPerfect. WP can handle two columns (needed for scripts) but is limited to ONE page and also has some problems with movement between the columns. If a scripting program appears, I will buy it immediately. With all the uses of Amiga's with television I suspect there is a decent market for a scripting program. -- ****************************************************************************** Bill Hogsett CLEVELAND AREA-AMIGA USERS' GROUP ncoast!bill (216) 581-2284 (BBS) ncoast!wfhami!bill 3715 Townley Rd. So what do you mean by a scripting program ? I assume you mean something something like TV*SHOW or The Director? (sort of opposite ends of the spectrum I know, but they do show the range available.) If you mean a teleprompter (one of those gizmos that scroll *LARGE* text up the screen so that they can be read from a podium) there are a couple of those out as well. One from the netherlands even inverts the text so that when it is read from a mirror it comes out correctly. >If i had the resources, (like 2 drives, more than 512 k, and the money.) >I'd develop it myself and cash in. There is also another option, write a version of Display that has an ARexx port. Given commands such as "Play Anim <>" or "Fade in picture <>" you could build really simple scripts that way. >Wake up and smell the coffee developers. We (Hash Enterprises) are already going to be supporting AREXX (even before we attended DevCon :-). Our Display program already has about everything but the kitchen sink in it already, but allowing an AREXX script could be really nice. I'll pass it on, but it'll probably be me who has to do the actual coding. -- -Ken Baer. // Hash Enterprises: Choosy Toons Choose Hash. \X/ USENET - baer@percival.UUCP, PLINK - KEN BAER, BIX - kbaer, "while (AINTGOTNOSATISFACTION) { do stuff }" - RJ Mical

Chris, do you know about 'The Director'.I never touched an IBM (or only from fare) so I cant really see what you are refering too.
