[comp.sys.amiga] Aunt Artic Adventure

jwilliam@esunix.UUCP (Jerry Williams) (06/02/89)

I bought the game about a week and a half ago. It moves really quick.
And I really like the music. It reminds me of Donkey Kong.
I think that it is a great game. But it does have some problems.
Please correct me if I am wrong but you have to reboot to change the
player name or setup for what controls the game. So if you have a couple
of people that want to take turns it doesn't work very well.
Also the copy protection seems really tough. I copied the game using NIB
V1.0 but only once. The stars must hav been right. :-) I can't do it
again. :-( Does anyone have any information on how to copy it reliably.
Also I got past level 4 and started 5 and the screen goes black and the
power light goes bright & dim so it looks like the disk I have is
defective. I think the game is suppost to have 50 levels.
Any help would be appreciated thanks!

I had problems with the disk and sent it back to the company and I
received a new copy yesterday. Pretty good turn around. I think that maybe
they have changed the copy protection alittle or the old disk was
really bad. Any way you can copy it with NIB. You should start out
with the destination disk formated. I think NIB works better if the
destination disk is formated. Copy cylinders 0, 2-6 with the
normal DOS copy and the rest I used Nible with index. I only have
it copy 5 cylinders at a time. So like go from 11-15 and then 16-20.
it takes a couple of times for some of the cylinders. It will not
verify cylinders 37-39,59,81, or 82, but is seems to work fine anyway.
I made sure that everything verified except for the mentioned cylinders.
And I did the bad ones a couple of times since some of the other
cylinders take a couple of times to verify.
I really like this game. It has some of the best music I have heard with
a game and I am impressed with how fast everything moves. Also you can
hit a "q" to quit at anytime. You have to use this if you get in a place
you need a key and don't have it. And a "d" will give you a demo of the
game on level 29. I think the game has 50 levels.

I agree with everything you say. I think the "full speed" is a bit
much though. I played it in half speed.

Yup, and I've completed all 50. It was fun. First computer game I've
played that intensely in a long time!
