[comp.sys.amiga] SimCity Light Rail Question

pdg@hpcupt1.HP.COM (Paul Gootherts) (06/28/89)

Has anyone ever seen more than one train at a time in SimCity?

I've built separate unconnected light rail systems in high traffic areas
and I always see a train appear almost immediately on the first set of
rails, but *never* one any of the subsequent sets. When I connect them,
the train I can already see starts to use the newly connected track.

Anyone have an explanation?

That's right.

I think the train is there just to pretty up the display. I have found
that when you replace a busy piece of road with a rail, the congestion
goes down, regardless of whether it is connected to the part of the rail
system that has the train.

My solution to the aesthetics problem is just to plan the city with one
large fully-connected rail system. I have one 150 yr old city that is
mostly rail.
