I have created a new newsgroup for medical & health related material of any kind; it is called 'net.med'. The intended charter of this newsgroup is quite broad, including (besides the obvious) things like the politics & sociology of health care, news items, physiology & anatomy, 'mental health', etc. There was discussion & voting on this a while back, but creation of a new group was stalled on the issue of potential liability for medical practice. I don't believe there is a problem here, as long as we: 1) cite sources for any medical procedures discussed 2) don't present ourselves as medical authorities unless we are (I'm not, but some of you may be), and 3) avoid presenting our ideas/suggestions as instructions on what someone else 'should' do for some medical problem.
