[comp.sys.amiga] Supra 20Meg makes bizarre noises

I have a supra 20Meg HD for the A1000, and recently, its been making
some strange noises. For short periods, it resonates loudly. It
sounds like one of the platters is rubbing against the inside of the
casing, but if that were so, then I'm sure I'd be getting errors. As
of yet, it has been error free. Someone suggest warn barrings,
this sound plausable? Is this something I can fix, or what?

Well, I can tell you that I've had an ST506 (IBM) hard drive that
has a serious cricket sound to it. Butu I've been using it for
a few years and never had a problem. On the other hand, some
IBM service guys mentioned that it might be the bearings dying
a slow death. I could be wrong, so talk to Supra.
