OK, so on Monday I really hosed up. I had just completed a 17 page technical document on WordPerfect and printed it out. It looked great and I wanted to port it over from the Amiga WordPerfect version over to the PC WordPerfect version for myr. To make a long story short, I used the JLINK command and created a JLINK file the same name as the document I wanted to port over from df1:. Needless to say, there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth the minute I hit the <ENTER> key, suddenly realizing what I had done. Upon reentering the file, the WP requester said that the file was no longer a WP document, and did I want to look at it anyway? Yes I did. When I tried to see if anything was there, WP kept hitting me with a space position hyphen requester...thousands of times I was asked to ACCEPT the hyphen. There was no sign of any of the text that was apparently blown away, although DUIV showed that the sector size of the file seemed to be the same. I have already resigned myself to retyping the document. But perhaps there might be a Fred Fish utility that I could use to recover whatever is left of the file on the disk. My request of the USENET is as follows: 1) Is there a utility that I could use to see if any of the material still exists on the disk? 2) Could someone provide me with a procedure to transfer files between Amiga and PC WordPerfect without this type of catastrophe? 3) Could requests 1 & 2 be fulfilled without any references to my obviously stupid & dildetic mistake? Thanks in advance. ======================================================================= Paul White dil de tik - having the likeness Technically writing everyday or quality of a dildo; anything like the big kids longer than it is wide. =======================================================================

In requard of the transfer procedure, I don't think you should use jlink for the process. The proven procedure is as follow: On the IBM side: ARead {Amigafile} {PCFile} AWrite {PCFile} {AmigaFile} Note that the direction is from left to right and you have to run it from the PC side. I have been using it without any problem except its speed. +---------+----------------------------+----------------------------------+ | ///| Morris Y. L.
