[comp.sys.amiga] Alegra memory expansion

fas2981@ultb.UUCP (F.A. Shea) (06/10/89)

I recently got hold of a used alegra expansion board for my a1000. The
memory board works great but I'm looking to expand it from 512k to 2meg
(or somewhere in between). I would appreciate any input on this.

BTW one reason I'm looking is that I recently bought BAD and it doesnt
work with my 40 meg hdrive and I figured it was the lack of enough
memory. I dont think i can partition it. It is an old micro forge
expansion case and harddrive and comes with its own mount command so it
doesnt use the mountlist. So if your still with me and know something
about these i could use some help with this as well.

thanks alot

I have an Alegra memory board for my Amiga 1000. It currently has the standard
512K with 256Kbit chips. I'd like to upgrade it to 2MB using 1 Mbit chips,
but the documentation seems to have found a good hiding place in my last move.

Can anyone tell me the device types, speed, organization (1Mx1 or 256Kx4), etc.
I need for the upgrade. Also, aside from standard static precautions, is there
anything special I need to know to do the upgrade (jumpers to set, ...).

					Thanks in advance,
