These are two things which all posters of news should be aware of. Posting an article to two or more groups makes it impossible to see the article more than once by any means during a session using the standard readnews interface. This is particularly important to note in articles which contain addresses or other material that should be saved, since the standard procedure is to read an article and then "s- <file>" if it is something you want. The "-" will not work on articles posted to multiple groups, nor will speci- fying the article by number. If using the "vi" text editor, it is possible to use nroff without leaving the editor. Go to line one and say "!Gnroff <opts><cr>". This replaces everything until the last line with what nroff puts out with those lines as input. This produces articles that are much more pleasant to read. However, you will have to strip away leading and trailing blank lines yourself. If you already knew these, or if they don't apply to you, I'm sorry to take up your time, but there is no other way of insuring that they get to the many people they are targeted at. At any rate, I would prefer to have them right justified than have lines longer than my terminal is wide. Anyway, I have a program which can easily be called from "vi" which will justify or simply fill text. I didn't write it, and would prefer to check with the author before giving it out to anyone, however, perhaps other people have such things they'd be willing to post. Or, you could use "nroff -man".....this will make the text somewhat pretty, but the lines won't be right-justified.... --Dave Curry pur-ee!davy
