Well folks, its taken me months of scrimping, saving, and planning but I finally have my A1000 hard disk system coming together. I have the Supra 4x4 SCSI interface, and external case/power supply, and a Quantum 80S on the way from HardDisk Intl ($750). My last hurdle is the creation/purchase of the cable to connect the drive to the controller. The 4x4 comes with a cable that hooks onto a 25 pin connector on the rear of the unit. This cable leads to a small circuit board which they call the "connector board". I need the cable to connect the 50 pin connector on the "connector board" to the drive. Does anyone know the correct pinouts for this 50 pin cable? Alternately, can I purchase the appropriate cable from somewhere? [I don't believe this 50 pin connector is a typical type of SCSI connector. It is not a DB connector, but two parallel rows of 25 pins. (sorry I don't know the tech name)] Thanks! If you open up your drive, you'll probably see that the 25 pin DB connector goes straight into a 50 pin socket on the drive. (or atleast thats what I've always been told...)
